Yes, I’ve heard a few people comment on their frustration with the thread znd the skin irritation! Such a shame, as it has such a wonderful colour spectrum.

I think they do at the very least a tapestry type and a finer type, but I’ve got such a stash I’ve not kept up with what’s available now!

Oh I had no idea there was another type of Appletons! The only one I’ve ever used is more like a tapestry one, though they call it crewel wool

Oh. It’s a tapisserie wool type? The one I have is stranded! There’s more than one type from each supplier..

At the moment it’s about learning the stitches and working out how well the stitches cover the canvas. Certainly nothing special!

It isn’t stranded however you can use it doubled like you would with a stranded thread ? to get either thicker or better coverage from it.

The Appletons I have isn’t stranded?

I’m just using the ends of skeins I’ve got, so I’m not sure yet, but I’m hoping to keep them all green
