My journey, experiences and things I learn as part of completing my second module of the RSN Certificate in Technical Hand Embroidery – Canvaswork.
The piece is to be approximately the size of an A5 sheet of paper, and is worked on 18 TPI antique single canvas. It is an expressive and creative module, where a variety of threads is encouraged to be used.

I’m almost finished the second module of the RSN Certificate! I’m having some troubles getting the detail required onto the castle, but learn how my tutors have taught me to solve the problem!
My RSN canvaswork piece is developing nicely – the little bits are being filled in and I’m using a wider variety of types of thread!
Canvaswork is so much more than stitching a tapestry. Consideration of texture, colour and more needs to be thought and planned!
