Stitch-a-long update – and a pass!

chain stitch worked in wool
I've not had a chance to do any stitching on my sampler these past three weeks, but do make sure you head over to see what everyone else has been up to!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful Christmas and festive period, with time for family and friends and all the other fun this brings.

It’s time for a SAL update

But unfortunately with family visiting I’ve not had time to get anything more done on my elephant sampler, so I’m sitting this one out.

if you are interested in the previous ‘history’ of this sampler, and any of the stitches used, you can see the details, and struggles with some of the stitches, by searching for ‘TAST 2016‘ in the categories listing (or just follow the link!).

I’ll be back in the new year with some more updates and news, but in the meantime, I encourage you to hop over to everyone else’s blog and see what they have been up to!

Join the others!

Do make sure you head over and see what everyone else has been up to! There is always so much to see, and is a great and lovely time catching up with everyone. If you would like to join, please get in touch with Avis, and she will give you all the details.

  1. I don’t remember seeing those cute baubles on Mr. Elephant before, perchance you actually have made some changes?! So glad you had family for Christmas, I bet that was special since they are FAR away aren’t they?

    1. Unfortunately I didn’t even take a new photo Kathy, so definitely no progress! Not to worry. My parents are still here with us all the way from Australia- which is a long way! So nice to have them and get a bit of travelling in too ? happy new year to you too!

  2. Hope you had a great holiday and will have lots of stitching time in the new year. I think we all had so many things on our plate at this time of year.
    Happy New Year

    1. Thanks Linda. I’m hoping to have lots of stitching time, though it probably won’t appear till mid January. Happy new year to you!

  3. Time with family is one of the best excuses you could have. 🙂 Hope the new year treats you well. We’ll look forward to seeing what you’ve done in the next check-in!

  4. Just one of those times when life gets in the way, but I am sure you are enjoying having your family here with you. Hope you all had a great Christmas and a Very Happy New Year to you and those you love Catherine.

Thanks so much for visiting today! I’m Catherine, and it’s great to have you here. You will find here lots of information about my projects and designs, what worked, what didn’t, what I enjoyed, what I didn’t!

With a Certificate in Technical Hand Embroidery from the RSN, combined with my current technical studies in depth of each technique at the San Fransisco School of Needlework and Design, I strive to complete each piece to a high degree of technical excellence. But I also like to stretch the ‘rules’ and explore my own methods and techniques!

Email me or connect with me on social media for any questions, or to keep up what I’m up to!
